Sterile Water for Injection 10mL — Research Grade Reconstitution Solution
Sterile Water for Injection (SWFI) is preservative-free, highly purified water that meets pharmacopeial standards for sterility and pyrogen content. It is used for single-use reconstitution of lyophilized peptide research compounds where the preservative (benzyl alcohol) in bacteriostatic water is undesirable — for example in cell culture studies where benzyl alcohol may affect cellular viability, or in research protocols specifying preservative-free diluent. This 10mL vial provides a convenient single-use volume for reconstituting research peptides.
Research Application
Sterile Water for Injection is appropriate when:
- The research protocol specifies preservative-free reconstitution
- The reconstituted peptide will be used within a single experimental session
- In vitro cell culture work requires absence of benzyl alcohol
- The compound’s stability profile is better matched to SWFI (some peptides are sensitive to benzyl alcohol at higher concentrations)
For multi-dose vials intended for use over days or weeks, bacteriostatic water is preferred. Reconstituted solutions in SWFI should be used promptly or stored at 2–8°C for a maximum of 24 hours due to the absence of preservative.
